1. Free-Play Only — No Real Money

ChinookLake is a free social entertainment platform. All credits used on the platform are virtual tokens with no monetary value. You cannot buy credits with real money, earn credits that can be redeemed for real money, or convert credits into any prize, gift card, or cash equivalent. The game is operated purely for entertainment and social enjoyment. By using ChinookLake you acknowledge and agree that no financial transaction of any kind occurs through this platform.

The game mechanics — playing columns, scatter symbols, bonus wheels, multipliers, and free-play rounds — are entertainment features designed to provide engaging interactive experiences. They do not represent, imply, or simulate real-money playing. "Winning" on ChinookLake means receiving virtual credits, not real currency or prize-eligible tokens of any kind.

2. Age Restriction — 18 and Over Only

Access to ChinookLake is restricted to individuals aged 18 years and older. By clicking "Yes, I am 18+" on the age-verification overlay, you confirm under the terms of these Terms of Use that you meet this age requirement. If you are under the age of 18, you must leave this website immediately and not attempt to access its content. We reserve the right to terminate access for any user we reasonably believe to be under the age of 18.

Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that minors in their households do not access adult-oriented entertainment platforms. We recommend the use of parental control software on shared devices. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18.

3. Not a Gambling Service Under Canadian Law

ChinookLake does not constitute gambling under the Criminal Code of Canada (R.S.C., 1985, c. C-46) because no real money, property, or any other consideration of monetary value is pledged, staked, or exchanged at any point during use of the platform. The platform also does not constitute an "electronic gaming device" as defined under Ontario's Gaming Control Act, 1992, S.O. 1992, c. 24, because it does not conduct, manage, or operate any game of chance for profit using real money.

These Terms of Use and the nature of the platform may be subject to change if Canadian federal or provincial law changes in a way that affects free-to-play social gaming. ChinookLake reserves the right to modify or discontinue any feature in order to remain compliant with applicable law.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use ChinookLake for any of the following purposes:

• Accessing the platform if you are under 18 years of age
• Attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of any platform component
• Using automated scripts, bots, or browser extensions to manipulate the game engine or credit system
• Uploading, posting, or transmitting any malicious code, spam, or disruptive content to or through the platform
• Using the platform in any jurisdiction where free social gaming of this type is prohibited by law
• Attempting to circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the platform, including the age gate
• Misrepresenting the nature of the platform to third parties — for example, claiming credits represent real money

5. Intellectual Property

All content on ChinookLake — including the platform name, logo, CSS styles, game mechanics, artwork, text, and visual design — is owned by ChinookLake Social Play Inc. or its licensors and is protected by Canadian and international intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without our prior written permission.

The round symbols (sym-1.svg through sym-8.svg) incorporate artwork derived from Twemoji, which is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) by Twitter, Inc. The Twemoji project is accessible at github.com/twitter/twemoji. Our modifications and derivative works built on Twemoji are likewise licensed under CC BY 4.0 and credited in our footer.

6. Liability Disclaimers

ChinookLake is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ChinookLake Social Play Inc. disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

In no event shall ChinookLake Social Play Inc. be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the platform, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these terms will not exceed CAD $100.

Because no real money is involved, no financial loss can arise from gameplay itself. Any potential harm from use of the platform is limited to the entertainment and time-use context. We encourage responsible use — please see our Responsible Play page for guidance.

7. Privacy and Cookies

Your use of ChinookLake is also governed by our Privacy Notice and Cookie Policy, which are incorporated into these Terms of Use by reference. Please read them carefully to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

8. Responsible Play

We are committed to promoting responsible engagement with our platform. Even though no real money is involved, we recognise that any interactive entertainment experience can become habitual. We encourage you to set time limits on your sessions, take regular breaks, and stop playing if the experience stops being enjoyable. 9. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these terms that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario. If you are accessing the platform from outside Canada, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms of Use at any time by posting an updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be highlighted in a notice visible on the platform for at least 14 days. Your continued use of ChinookLake after the effective date of any revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
